About MCI Corp

Founded in 1976 as the U.S. representative of Japanese switch manufacturer Shinden Manufacturers Components Inc., has grown to provide high quality electronic components to manufacturers from small start-ups to global Fortune 100 companies. Manufacturer Components Inc, now owns over 20 patents and has a global presence with partnerships and international operations in the United States, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and Central America.

The Problem

MCI relies on phones to communicate daily with vendors, customers and suppliers and communication costs can rise when making international calls. Add to that the cost of an aging and inflexible phone system that is pretty much at capacity without some of the more convenient features new systems have today.

Reducing expenditures is a must for any business and MCI is not immune to budget streamlining. Replacing the aging phone system was also a must in order to improve communications across the board.

The Solution

InMotion PC competitive VoIP rates and phone system enabled MCI to accomplish the goal of updating the phone system and reducing the monthly expenditures on international long distance. With the support of InMotion PC engineers MCI was able to replace the old system with a new VoIP enabled PBX without any compromises. InMotion PC’s proven track record of IT support and consulting services added an extra level of comfort to MCI’s decision to move forward with the project.

MCI’s requirements were relatively standards but contacting the current provider to make the system work parallel to the other system was a more unique challenge. In addition, the system needed to also be secure enough to allow remote users and not expose the company to fraudulent calls.

The Impact

MCI did not have to compromise on a single requirement and received a new phone system that exceeded all expectations.

On top of that, with VoIP services monthly expenses are dramatically reduced.
